The MacBook Pro non Touchbar with 2 Thunderbold 3 ports was the first in the new Pro line to be launched. It uses a Duo Core i5 Intel Skylake 2GHz CPU and has 8GB soldered on RAM at 1866MHz busspeed. The 256GB SSD drive is removable but proprietary and does not fit any other Mac model. The 2017 model also offered Core i7 option and was running a higher busspeed of 2133MHz.

The display assembly for the MacBook Pro Non Touchbar 2016/17 is difficult to replace, it needs special screw drivers to be removed. The displays are prone to have cracks in the LCD Cable leading to "backlight staging" and other issues. These cables are not replaceable so the only way to repair it is to replace the complete display assembly. Replacing the LCD only is also an option, but this is even more complicated process. If cost is your main concern, this will be a cheaper version then replacing the display assembly. The back cover of the display can not have any damage though. We do not recommend anyone to try this repair by themselves.
