Repairing is always the first option before deciding to replace the logicboard
If your MacBook's logicboard or motherboard is fried, it's often possible to repair it instead of replace. In the case we are not able to repair it, then you always have the option to replace the complete logicboard. The cost for a replacement board is about 3 times more expensive then the average repair. Something to consider when Apple tells you the board needs replacement.
